Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Running on the Id Tech 5 Engine and exclusively with the Vulkan API, MachineGames' Wolfenstein II looks fantastic yet runs well across a spectrum of hardware. We test using the 'Mein leben!' preset, which is the highest available. There is no built-in benchmark, so instead we've found a repeatable section of the campaign that's also one of the most demanding areas we came across after at least an hour of play - in most instances cards will actually perform better than what you see below. It's a 30-second segment, and frame data is recorded using the freely available Open Capture and Analytics tool (OCAT). OCAT does give you an average frame rate, which we repeat here. The minimum frame rate in this instance is based on the 99th percentile frame time as generated by OCAT, initially presented in milliseconds and converted to frames per second simply by dividing 1,000 by the result.
